Reducing Waste and Our Impact on the Environment

To provide a high standard of dental care with the appropriate levels of infection control has led to challenges for the modern dental practice in operating sustainably and also reducing the amount of waste produced.

For example we place barriers over equipment to stop the possible transmission of disease, but each of these barriers has to be changed after each patient, leading to quite an amount of waste production.

Our team at Brookfield Road Dental at Kenmore have introduced innovative products to reduce our environmental burden:

*Paper cups – biodegradable

*Biodegradable plastic sleeves over equipment

*Garbage bags made from 95% recycled material

*Kitchen bags made from 50% plant based material

*Eucalyptus wash used on floors – Australian made, natural product, environmentally friendly. (avoids using bleach, ammonia, chlorine, phosphates etc.)

In addition to these measures the toothbrushes we issue to our patients are now made from 25% recycled plastics.

Our team of dentists at Brookfield Road Dental at Kenmore not only care for you but for our shared environment. For more information see here.
